Use the free WARDOGS mortar calculator to get distance, azimuth and MIL for the L81 Mortar. The War Dogs artillery calculator also supports SPH-2 firing solutions on Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona. Set your artillery and target coordinates to check the supported firing range and plan your next shot.
WARDOGS Mortar Calculator for L81
The L81 firing table currently supports distances from 132 to 684 metres. Place the artillery and target on the tactical map, or enter their X and Y coordinates. The solution updates as either point moves, so you can compare possible firing positions before committing to a location.
MIL is the elevation setting from the selected weapon table, not a compass bearing. Read it alongside the azimuth and distance. A target below the minimum or beyond the maximum distance has no valid table solution; moving the artillery may bring it into range. Check your actual position in game before using the numbers.
War Dogs Artillery Calculator for SPH-2
For SPH-2, the supported table spans 780 to 2629 metres. Select LOW or HIGH to inspect the available trajectory. LOW is the flatter arc and HIGH is the steeper arc. The WARDOGS artillery calculator uses the selected weapon and arc; a mortar result must not be reused as an SPH-2 setting.
Enter the hull heading shown by the driver-seat compass, separately from the firing azimuth. The heading-dependent platform model does not measure actual vehicle tilt. Park on level ground and recheck the heading after moving. Terrain3D correction is experimental: only trusted SAFE candidates may replace the standard table, and unsupported or uncertain cases fall back.
How to Use the WARDOGS Mortar Calculator
This mortar calculator for WARDOGS relies on positions supplied by you. It does not track players automatically or replace an in-game observation of where a shot lands.
Choose the map and weapon
Match the map to your current server, then choose L81 Mortar or SPH-2. Map style changes the background presentation, not the coordinate system. Confirm the weapon before interpreting its supported range.
Set both coordinate pairs
Select Artillery or Target and place the corresponding point, or type its X and Y values. Copy and Paste work on each point separately. Lock the artillery position when placing multiple targets so a map gesture cannot move it accidentally.
Read and check the result
Check distance, azimuth, MIL and range status. On desktop, expand Firing solution for the detailed view; mobile displays the main results above the map. If the target is out of range, change the position or weapon instead of using a missing MIL.
Keep useful targets
Save a target for later, optionally with its artillery position, and give it a recognisable name. Recheck the current weapon, map and positions when restoring a saved target; saved coordinates do not confirm that the target remains there in game.
Understanding WARDOGS Artillery Firing Solutions
Distance is the separation between the selected points, shown in metres and kilometres. Azimuth describes the direction from artillery to target in degrees. MIL describes the elevation setting. These values answer different questions and should be checked together, especially after swapping points or changing weapon.
Range status checks the current firing table, not visibility or a guaranteed clear flight path. Buildings, changing game mechanics, inaccurate coordinates and an uneven firing platform can affect the actual shot. Use the ruler and terrain contours to inspect the plan, then verify the result in game. The WARDOGS mortar calculator provides a firing reference, not a promise of a first-shot hit.
WARDOGS Maps for Mortar and Artillery
All three preset maps use calibrated game coordinates. Switching the map changes the planning context, so confirm it before entering positions or restoring targets. Open the map pages for their own coordinate and terrain details.
Bakurani
Plan positions with the calibrated tactical map, terrain contours and supported elevation data.
Ozeti
Use the corrected playable-area alignment when comparing coordinates and placing tactical markers.
Zestafona
Inspect positions across map zoom levels and combine coordinate targeting with shared planning tools.
Saved Targets and Team Planning
Saved targets keep frequently used coordinates accessible. Export targets before moving to another browser or device, and import the file there. Saving locally and joining a room are different actions; room collaboration should not be treated as a backup of your personal target list.
Live lobbies share drawings, zones, polygons and tactical markers with invited teammates. Each player keeps separate weapon, artillery, target and range-circle settings. Teammates see named positions without duplicated range circles. Use those shared markings to discuss the plan while checking your own firing solution. Lobby availability depends on the room service and connection.
WARDOGS Calculator FAQ
What range does the WARDOGS mortar calculator support?
The current L81 table covers 132-684 metres. Those are this tool's supported values, not a guarantee for every future game version. Check the displayed range after selecting the weapon.
Does the War Dogs artillery calculator support SPH-2?
Yes. Select SPH-2 for the 780-2629 metre table, LOW/HIGH arcs and hull-heading input. Read the azimuth separately from the hull heading and use a level firing platform.
Can I use the War Dogs mortar calculator on mobile?
Yes. The mobile interface uses the same weapon tables and coordinate calculations. Open its calculator sheet to enter positions; the map and main firing values remain part of the mobile workspace.
How do I save and reuse target coordinates?
Use Save after setting the target. Enable the artillery-position option when you want to store that position too. Export and import transfer saved targets; recheck the selected map and weapon when loading them.
Why does the calculator show Out of range?
The distance is outside the selected weapon table. There is no usable MIL for that table at the current distance. Move the artillery or target, or choose an appropriate weapon, then check the updated result.
When does Terrain3D correction apply?
For supported SPH-2 terrain, correction runs automatically and applies only a SAFE candidate. Missing, uncertain or unsupported terrain data keeps the standard firing-table fallback. The tool does not measure the real tilt of the vehicle.
